New posts showing as read

Most of the new posts in the forums are showing already read when I know I haven't read them. :think: I just discovered several today that I hadn't seen that were posted yesterday and today. :groaner: Is anyone else having this problem? :headscrat

Me as well, plus sometimes the site is too slow to do anything with.

We seem to be having some problems with the server actively refusing connections. We don't know if this is related to the installations they have been performing lately, but hopefully they are about done. If it continues to be a problem, we'll be in touch with their tech support.

When you are reading posts and the server refuses the connection, it results in the posts erroneously being marked as read.

Sounds like someone should backup the database or whatever we've got on the back end here.

We do that at least once a day.

The ISP we use had to do some upgrades recently and everytime they reset the server or if i have to reset the server on my end then all posts will automatically be marked as read.
I apologise for the inconvience to everyone here but sometimes these things will happen. I only found out that VBulletin does this tonight so will try to restrict any Database work i do until after you all are safely tucked in bed.

The board is horribly slow right now and I've read posts that I haven't actually read.
