HOLT REASSIGNED TO CHARLOTTE
Head Coach Derek Wilkinson is Tonight’s Guest on FOX Charlotte’s Got Game
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced today that the New York Rangers have reassigned goalie Chris Hold to Charlotte from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. In another recent transaction, the Checkers signed right wing Shawn Vinz yesterday. The Checkers also announced that Derek Wilkinson, head coach and general manager, will appear live in studio on FOX Charlotte’s Got Game tonight at 10:30 pm.
Holt has also gone 21-18-2 in 42 games with Charlotte this season, with a 3.26 goals-against average and 89.5% save percentage. In six games with the Pack this season, Holt has gone 2-1-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and 91.8% save percentage. Last season, the 21-year-old goaltender played in 23 games with the Checkers, where he went 7-11-1 with a 4.10 goals-against average, and a 88.7% save percentage. In addition, he went 3-2-1 in nine games with the Wolf Pack last season, with 225 saves, a 87.9% save percentage. Holt made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers on December 13th, playing 10 scoreless minutes with two saves.
Vinz, 24, is a rookie out of the University of New Hampshire. He finished his career at New Hampshire this season scoring four goals, two assists with 16 penalty minutes in 37 games. Vinz scored a goal on his first shift as a professional in last night’s 4-1 win over Columbia.
