CHECKERS PARTNER WITH ALEXANDER YOUTH NETWORK
Team Continues to Expand its Community Outreach
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced today their plans for working with the Alexander Youth Network during the 2007-08 season.
The Checkers are providing a ‘Buddy Night Out’ for Alexander’s foster care program on Dec. 29 against the South Carolina Stingrays. Season ticket holders are asked to donate unused tickets or participate in our Big Buddy sponsorship program, choosing from a $100, $300 or $500 investment to benefit Alexander’s ‘Buddy Night Out.’ Tickets will provide under-privileged children a night out with their foster families and the Charlotte Checkers.

For that reason, I am thrilled with this partnership and look forward to seeing it flourish over this and many seasons to come."
About Alexander Youth Network:
Founded in 1888 as a rescue mission by Presbyterian women in Charlotte to serve destitute women and children, Alexander Youth Network (then know as the Alexander Home), has had a rich history of serving those most in need.
Alexander Youth Network provides a comprehensive array of services developed to treat children with, or at risk for, serious emotional disturbance. Services include diagnostic assessment, outpatient therapy, day treatment, psychiatric residential treatment, therapeutic and intensive foster care, community support services, multi-systemic therapy and operate The Relatives, a shelter for runaway and homeless children. Alexander serves nearly 1,500 children each year throughout North Carolina.
