What's the difference b/n the avatar and the personal picture?

The avatar is the picture that is located to the left on every post you make, and is also displayed in the member list.

The personal picture is a picture that is displayed in your member profile. Look here (http://www.checkersfan.com/forum/member.php?u=2) to see what I mean.
