CHARLOTTE CHECKERS MOVE TO TICKETMASTER Charlotte, NC – The ECHL’s Charlotte Checkers have signed a multi-year agreement to move their ticketing operations to Ticketmaster, the world’s leading ticketing company. Through the agreement, Ticketmaster will serve as the team’s exclusive authorized ticketing provider and will begin selling tickets on October 1 for the Checkers’ 2007-2008 season home games at the St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Patrons throughout North Carolina and beyond have easy and convenient access to Checkers home game tickets and information online at Ticketmaster.com, via Ticketmaster’s Charge-By-Phone Network at 704-552-6400, and at Ticketmaster retail ticket center locations including the FYE and Macy’s stores in Charlotte. ““We evaluated a number of competitive ticketing providers and Ticketmaster presented the most comprehensive solution for the Checkers,” said Checkers president, Jeff Longo. “Moving our ticketing operations to Ticketmaster will provide our guests with top-level convenience and affords us some exciting new capabilities in the areas of e-commerce and online marketing.” "Hockey is an important sport in the Carolinas and we look forward to implementing our ticketing system and services for the Charlotte Checkers,” said Jared Smith, General Manager, Ticketmaster Carolinas. “We will be working closely with the team to maximize their ticketing business and serve their many fans throughout the region.” About Charlotte Checkers The Checkers enter their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL in October 2007.
